The NHSX Artificial Intelligence in Health and Care Award is making £140 million available over four years to accelerate the testing and evaluation of technologies

This represents a significant opportunity for:

  • Our health and care system to realise the benefits of cutting-edge digital technologies, making services smarter, more efficient and improving patient and staff experience.
  • Our innovative health and care technology sector to develop, test and refine their products in partnership with the health and care system, ensuring that they are safe, secure, and fit for purpose.
  • Our world-leading researchers and academic institutions to rigorously evaluate the application of these technologies in the health and care setting and produce high quality evidence of their effectiveness.

The latest competition is now open, which is focussing on later stage technologies (Phases 2-4), with a staged application process. The first application deadline is 7th September 2021. 

The East Midlands and Health Innovation West Midlandss are seeking to help develop potential partnerships between NHS and social care organisations, Higher Education Institutions and suppliers of AI technology in the Midlands region that can bid for this round of funding.

If you meet the eligibility criteria for the AI Award and are interested in discussing your AI potential challenges or solutions that could form part of a joint application to the Award we would very much like to hear from you before the end of July.

You can register your interest by completing a short form on the Meridian platform.
