The first ever festival to celebrate Coventry’s older residents, featuring exercise classes, dance workshops, expert talks and discussions and supported by WMAHSN, took place in October 2017.

The Coventry Life Festival was part of a campaign to make Coventry an age-friendly city and was held at Fargo Village. The festival was launched due to a new partnership between European Union organisation EIT Health, Coventry City Council, Age UK Coventry and Coventry Older Voices, and the WMAHSN commissioned Coventry University to lead on the initiative.

Sunday 1 October was a day for the public, featuring a variety of activities including exercise classes from Serendip tenant Move it ir Lose it!, inspirational talks, dance workshops and much more, while Monday 2 October was aimed at professionals, with talks from experts and discussions on what steps need to be taken to support older people in the city.
