The 100,000 Genomes Project - join the Participant Panel

Posted on 30 November 2015 (Permalink)

Are you taking part in the 100,000 Genomes Project with the West Midlands Genomics Medicine Centre? Genomics England is looking for participants to be part of the national 100,000 Genomes Project Participant Panel.

The role of the panel is to ensure that the interests of participants are always at the centre of the 100,000 Genomes Project. They will make sure that the experiences of participants are improved, respond to feedback and oversee who should have access to participant data.

The panel will meet twice a year in London. Those who are unable to join meetings in person can join by telephone or Skype. There are likely to be documents to read or consider before any meetings. You will be paid for your time and expenses will be covered.

Anyone who has taken part in the 100,000 Genomes Project can be a member of the panel. Carers of people who have taken part are also welcome.

This is an important role. We would like you to help develop and shape the future work of the Participant Panel and we would be very interested in your views. If you are interested in this opportunity, please visit the Genomics England website for more information and details on how to apply.
