About this event

You are invited to join us for the third West Midlands Maternity & Neonatal Safety Network meeting. The safety network aims to take a system wide approach to enabling improvements within maternity and neonatal care.

This is one element of phase two of the national Maternity and Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme (MatNeoSIP), which is led by the NHSEI national Patient Safety Team and delivered by the Patient Safety Collaboratives, which are hosted by regional Academic Health Science Network (AHSNs).

This network meeting will include:

Updates from:

  • Maternity & Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme (MatNeoSIP)
  • Midlands Maternity & Perinatal Mental Health Clinical Network
  • West Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network
  • Maternity Voices Partnership update on coproduction

Other sessions:

  • Spotlight on: University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire quality improvement work
  • An introduction to Ergonomics and Human Factors in healthcare
  • ‘Open space’ break session out for maternity & neonatal safety champions

Who should attend?

This network aims to bring together a broad group of system partners and stakeholders from across the region, to work together on improving the safety and outcomes of care for mothers, babies and families.

  • Organisations representing women and families e.g. Maternity Voices Partnership, Neonatal Voices Partnership etc.
  • Midwives, obstetricians, neonatologists and neonatal nurses, student midwives, Doulas etc.
  • Safety champions & Trusts' safety specialists
  • LMNS's, CCGs, Local Authorities, ICS's Public Health England etc.
  • Primary care, ambulance & neonatal transport services
