GP shoulder and elbow joint injection and examination workshop

This workshop, specifically for GPs, will offer one and a half hours of learning time with confirmation issued on attendance.
The workshop is suitable for GPs who currently have no joint injections experience and are looking to perform in their practice, or to find out more about the subject, as well as being suitable for those who currently inject and are seeking to refresh their injection technique.
The format of the evening will include a brief lecture/overview of indications for injecting the shoulder and elbow, followed by practical techniques using an electronic shoulder model and elbow, giving attendees the opportunity to practice their injection technique. The workshop runs from 7 - 8.30pm.
The workshop will be delivered by Mr Samir Massoud, Consultant Orthopaedic Knee and Shoulder Surgeon at the Midland Orthopaedic Practice and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. Learning objectives from the session include:
- Indications for the different locations of injections around the shoulder and elbow
- Techniques of injections around the shoulder and elbow
- Post injection advice and course
- Outcomes and complications
- Shoulder and elbow examination.
