Making Light Work for Your Health - a laser-based workshop about technologies for Medicine and Healthcare

24 March 2017 Aston University, Aston Triangle, Birmingham B4 7ET

Photonics, using light instead of electronics, is one of the fastest growing research and technology areas. It provides new means for non-invasive diagnostics and treatments.

Aston University’s photonics team has recently launched a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) part-funded project called the Innovative Product Support Service (IPSS) around innovation and photonic technologies. The main target of the project is to apply scientific knowledge to new product and process development, and educate local companies, while increasing their productivity and profits.

They are inviting West Midlands-based business owners and manufacturers to attend this free workshop. During the workshop, they will discuss the application of light-based devices in medicine and healthcare and will provide some one-to-one consultancy throughout the day. If a field for potential improvement is found, Aston University may provide some initial investigations for your business for free, and funding opportunities will be discussed.

To book your place, contact Jolade Azzan, IPSS Project Manager, on 0121 204 5422 or email j.azzan@aston.ac.uk.
