Orthopaedic study evening - GP knee joint injection and examination

A free knee joint injection and examination workshop will be delivered by the Midland Orthopaedic Practice, specifically for GPs, and will offer one and a half hours of learning time, with confirmation issued on attendance. The workshop is suitable for GPs who currently have no knee joint or any joint injections experience and are looking to perform in general practice, as well as being suitable for GPs who currently inject and are seeking to refresh their injection technique.
The workshop runs from 6.55 - 8.25pm, with an optional buffet from 6.30pm. The format of the evening will include a brief lecture/overview of indications for injecting the knee, followed by practical techniques using an electronic knee model, giving attendees the opportunity to practice their injection technique.
The workshop will be delivered by Mr Samir Massoud, Consultant Orthopaedic Knee and Shoulder Surgeon of the Midland Orthopaedic Practice. Learning objectives from the session include:
- Indications for injecting the knee
- Aspiration and injection sites
- Sites for injections
- Tips and tricks
