Personalising medicine and mainstreaming genomics

The West Midlands Genomics Medicine Centre (GMC) is pleased to invite staff from University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust (UHB), Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham Women's Hospital NHS FoundationTrust, Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Birmingham to this masterclass. Starting with refreshments at 3.30pm and chaired by Tim Jones, Executive Director of Delivery at UHB, the event will include:

  • An introduction to personalised medicine and genomics
  • What's happening now – how genomics is impacting on cancer and rare disease
  • What will this mean for future care pathways.

Keynote presentations include:

  • Hilary Fanning,  Deputy Director of Delivery, UHB
  • Professor Dion Morton,  West Midlands GMC Clinical Director

This event is suitable for any staff working in clinical and non-clinical roles and delivering health care are welcome to attend. This includes Clinical Nurse Specialists, Operational Management Teams, Clinical Service Leads, laboratory staff and theatre staff.
