Design and Analysis of Clinical Diagnostics Trials

18 July 2016 Institute of Research and Development, Birmingham Research Park Ltd, Vincent Drive, Birmingham B15 2SQ

Participants will be expected to have an understanding and familiarity with the statistical concepts and methods dealt with in the introductory and further clinical statistics workshops, as learning will progress beyond that to include logistic regression methods and data analyses based on ROC curves and their summary indices, as well as methods of estimating positive and negative predictive values, sensitivity, specificity and test accuracy. Participants will learn about different study designs and phases, as well as sample size estimation methods to be able to design and analyse simple trials themselves and know what to ask a statistician when considering more advanced trials.
