Better Connected Live 2016: The reinvention of local public services

Better Connected Live 2016 brings together public service leaders at all levels, to discuss the opportunities that digital and devolution are creating to redesign services and provide better support for local communities.

The event combines a headline conference with top speakers, presentations from key initiatives, workshops and demonstrations, and the first ever Better Connected Awards. 

Chaired by Birmingham's Cllr Lisa Trickettthe event programme features: 

  • Mark Rogers, Chief Executive of Birmingham City Council and President of SOLACE
  • Martin Reeves, Chief Executive of Coventry City Council (and interim chief of the West Midlands Combined Authority)
  • Geoff Connell, Director of ICT London Borough of Newham and Havering
  • Dylan Roberts, Chief Information Officer of Leeds City Council and Chair of Local CIO Council
  • Amanda Derrick OBE, Silicon Abbey, formerly of Atos Consulting and the Government Digital Service 
  • Helen Milner OBE, CEO of the Tinder Foundation
  • Rachel Neaman, CEO of GO ON UK
  • Gerry McGovern, founder and CEO of Customer Carewords
  • Ayub Khan MBE of Warwickshire County Council and the Society of Chief Librarians.
