Rare Disease Day at University Hospitals Birmingham

29 February 2016 The Atrium, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, Mindelsohn Way, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TH

Rare Disease Day was founded to raise awareness among the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients' lives. Come along to the Atrium at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital between 10am and 3pm on 29 February to find out about the new Centre for Rare Diseases. Volunteers from the QEHB Charity - which supports the centre - will be on hand collecting loose change and selling charity merchandise, as well as providing information about the difference that donations can make to patients in the Midlands with rare diseases. The team will be joined by staff from the West Midlands Genomics Medicines Centre, who are delivering the 100,000 Genomes Project, and clinical staff will be on hand to answer questions.
