Midlands Engine Summit

4 December 2015 Bramall Music Building, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TT

The government has set out its objective to create a Midlands Engine, with the aim of working collectively to grow our regional economy in the Midlands more quickly, whilst at the same time improving its productivity. Building on the recent launch of Midlands Connect, regional stakeholders from all sectors have come together to develop ideas for the wider Midlands Engine initiative. The summit is being called to launch a ‘Prospectus for the Midlands Engine’, based on this work.

The Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, will be in attendance to be presented with a copy of the prospectus, and to deliver the keynote address. Marcus Jones MP, Minister for Local Government, will also participate in a panel discussion.

Registration will take place from 8am, where refreshments will be served, with the summit commencing at 8.30am until 10am.

The Bramall Music Building is located at the centre of the University of Birmingham’s Edgbaston campus. There is ample parking on campus or, alternatively, the University railway station is a ten-minute walk from the venue.

Registration for this summit is essential. Please register by confirming your attendance to Jane Arrowsmith at the University of Birmingham.
